I am a designer with 18 years of experience as a 3D Digital Industrial Designer. I joined Seymourpowell after my postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art. I am the Design Lead for large scale industrial design products and my forte lies in combining digital tools with traditional craft techniques to solve complex design issues and aesthetics. I am the key designer specialising in new business pitch and I work closely with the CEO to win these new clients.
For almost a decade, I worked as a Senior Industrial Design Consultant for General Electric and Fitch (GE/FITCH) design studios in Singapore, Shanghai and Taipei. I have travelled and worked extensively in the Far East. I have designed products for clients including Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Hannspree, Lenovo, Hisense, Sany Group, HTC, Motorola, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and World Kitchen.
At Seymourpowell, I have been the Principal Designer in the development of a train drivers cabin, working on a very specific and demanding brief. I have worked on initial concepts for an electronic motorbike design, which is now in production. I have also designed consumer products for FMCG clients, including Unilever and Diageo. Lately, I have designed innovative chocolates as well as a large scale one-off restaurant installation.
In April 2016, I have been invited by Nvidia to speak in their GPU Technology Conference (GTC 2016) in Silicon Valley, USA. I speak about design visualisations, workflow and acceleration. This is a collaboration with Solidworks Visualise (Bunkspeed). I did a live demonstration for real-time rendering, using the Visualise software and Nvidia's VCA (one of the world's fastest GPU machine)
In 2008, two of my research works from the RCA were selected and published in the book "Digital By Design" (published by Thames and Hudson) My research work has also been shown in Vogele Kultur Zentrum in Zurich Switzerland, from May to August in 2012.
I am married, live and work in London. I am originally from Singapore. I started my design education in Singapore at the Product Design Course in Temasek Polytechnic.
